First Story last part

I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did! The last part! I don’t own Yu Yu Hakusho characters or written material “June 29, 1999 ” which is by David Wiesner.

It took almost 3 months to take care of them but at last, things are starting to look normal again. Kuwabara, Keiko and the rest of the students had classes where the tomatoes hadn’t landed and every citizens were contented and full. The rumors are now at the back of everyone’s mind. It was in the early afternoon when Kurama is at Kaito’s front door. “Shuuichi? What are you doing here?” Kaito asks in surprise; he wasn’t expecting a visit from his favorite rival/fox.

“I’m just here to inform you about the famed vegetables.” Kurama said casually.

“Can we not talk about it? I want the word ‘vegetables’ far away from every conversation.” Kaito said tiredly.

“Then I guess you wouldn’t be interested in knowing where it came from.” Kurama said. He knows Kaito wouldn’t ignore this kind of information. He was right. “Fine, but this is the last time I’ll be hearing it for a long time.”

“Very well.” Kurama spoke up with mischievous in his eyes, “First off, Koenma says thank you and that he’s very grateful.”

“Thank me? For what?”

May 28

Koenma was in the state of panic. One of his moronic cook just drop a supply of ingredients for a party. Now they are one, no two boxes short to have enough for the guests! He could go out and get more, but there’s no time! Everyone, including his father, is now waiting for his or her meal. ‘I am so dead!’ he thought, ‘Maybe I could only serve dessert… and suddenly pigs will fly…’

At that moment, an ogre came running in the kitchen, “Koenma, sir!”

“Not now, I’m thinking of a way out of this!”

“But sir, we have enough now!”

Koenma turns around to see him holding a box of grown vegetables with balloons attach to it. On the front it said, ‘Property of Yuu Kaito.’ “I’m saved!” Koenma sighs in relief.

Didn’t expect that huh? Please comment!

First Story Pt. 4

Here is the next part. Please comment! I don’t own Yu Yu Hakusho characters or written material “June 29, 1999 ” which is by David Wiesner.

There are times when Kaito would be tempted to use his psychic ability and this is one of them. Soon the rumors spread to the entire district that made Kaito more annoyed. However, when it won’t stop, he just let it be. He even starts to enjoy it personally. When he met Yana, he told him, “Screw blue ribbon, you should get a Nobel Piece prize for curing world’s hunger!”

The rest of Japan meanwhile, starts to take advantage of the miracle. No one at school even thought about the fair anymore; it was cancelled because giant carrots landed at the site where it will be held (meaning no gym until it was fixed). It was a field day for people and animals everywhere. Pandas now wouldn’t have bamboo shortages anymore. Leaves of lettuce that floats alongside the fishing port are now being used for boat or sails. Giant sweet potatoes are now sculptors’ new rage for materials. In addition, trading became a major success, especially from North America when they export giant soybeans to them.

It’s the third week since the ‘invasion’ and just as Shizuru predicted, there’s no school. The construction workers are still working on trying to clear out the tomatoes. So Kuwabara decides to hang around at Kurama’s place. When he got there, Kurama, his brother Shuuichi, Kaito, Yana and Kido are watching the news. “Hey, guys! Long time, no see!” Everyone shushes him as the news shows footage of anglers sailing on a lettuce boat. “Nice to see you too,” Kuwabara grumbles, then sat down to join in. After which, his mind was on the TV like everyone else. When Shiori, Kurama’s mother, got home early, she’s surprised at the silence coming from the house. The boys are all watching the cucumbers floating on a lake when Kuwabara sense concern from Kaito. He turns and asks what is wrong.

“It’s the cucumbers,” he response.

“What about them? Nobody got hurt.”

Kaito shook his head, “It’s not that.”

“You don’t think it’s big enough for you?” Kido jokes.

“I might think that if I really planted those.”

“You didn’t?” Yana asks.

“Are you sure Yuu-san?” Shuuichi asks. He heard about the vegetable rumors from his school.

“Positive. I made a list of all the plants I used for my project.” Kaito taken a foldout piece of paper out from his pocket and open it.

“May I see it?” Kurama asked and Kaito pass it to him. Kurama looks at the paper containing the vegetables. There’s a checkmark on each one saying what giant vegetables is here. (‘For a possibility of his possession,’ Kurama thought.) He slowly read down every text until he confirms with Kaito: There is no ‘cucumber’ on the list.

“So, you’re saying that you didn’t grew these?!” Yana said nervously.

Kaito firmly answers, “No.” More silence came as each person absorbs his response. “Shuuichi, I made snacks for you and your friends.” Shiori pokes put from the kitchen, “Is everything okay?”

“Yes mother. Everything’s fine.” Kurama calmly calls out.

“Let me get this straight.” Kido slowly said, “If you never send cucumbers to space…” “…Then that means the other vegetables might not be yours either.” Shuuichi finishes. “It would seem that way.” Kurama said.

“Wait, are you absolutely sure?” Yana asks getting scared.

“The list doesn’t lie.” Kuwabara said grimly.

“Maybe the factory mixed the seeds in by mistake.” Yana said with hope.

Nobody shares the same confidence on that theory.

All month long in June, the news shows sightings of different veggies. Kaitou, Kuwabara, Kurama and Keiko’s parents went to buy local giants. Especially for Keiko’s; their customers was clamming for their new dish, the Year-Round Four Season soup. The ingredients were larger than normal. Kuwabara and his posse had had 3 bowls each and volunteers to wash the dishes afterwards. Back at the temple, Genkai wasn’t suspicious any longer because the giant radishes wasn’t poisonous and no demon came to pick them up. So Yukina wounds up making dinner with them each night. Kuwabara and Shizuru came by one day with Keiko to try out her recipes (Kazuma’s idea). Keiko shares some recipes with Yukina so she could spice up the meal. Genkai didn’t ask where it came from so Kuwabara decides to keep it a secret for Kaito’s health, just in case.

It’s getting closer to the end of school and the exams. Kaito, Kurama and Kuwabara are studying under the broccoli near the Yuu residence. Kuwabara took some stalks off the broccoli and ate while working on his literature. “Hey, quit eating my tree!” Kaito cries. “Sorry, no can do! Unless you got a giant refrigerator, I’m havin’ these while the getting’s good!” Kaito sighs while Kurama looks on with amusement. Kuwabara does make a point; they need to do something about this as well as with the others. Otherwise, they will be dealing with the biggest compost heap.

‘Speaking of which…’ Kaito thought, being reminded about the mutations. He watched the news every single day, counting the vegetables for the month of June. As the list continues to grow, Kaito Yuu made a conclusion that the mutated vegetables aren’t his project after all, as he suspected. It still didn’t stop the rumors though. The evening came and they all finished with the studying. Kaito is a little disappointed, but now he’s just curious and as he gaze up at the stars, he ponders along with Kurama and Kazuma: Where are Kaito’s vegetables and if these weren’t his, who was it?

We are coming to the end folks! Try to guess where these vegetables came from!

First Story pt. 3

Here’s part 3 of the story. Yay! I don’t own Yu Yu Hakusho characters or written material “June 29, 1999 ” which is by David Wiesner.

May 29

The sun begins to rise on the horizon. Mr. Yukimura went out to buy groceries for his restaurant. He always loves the sunrise as he walk past the river near their house. It’s so breathtakingly beautiful no matter how short the trip is. On this day, he was traveling past the same river when he saw something strange floating past him. He disregards it as trash. ‘I wish these people would take them elsewhere instead of being lazy and dumping it in.’ he thought. Another strange thing appears in the river. ‘Another trash bag no doubt.’ he thought. He slows down to take a closer look. It was green, smooth and lumpy. He frowns, ‘Its time somebody should take care of them,’ Mr. Yukimura walks downhill to get to the edge of the river. He got closer to the object and starts to pick one up…

At 7:30 a.m., Mrs. Yukimura was busy cooking breakfast for her family when Keiko came downstairs, “Good morning, mom!”

“Good Morning!” she calls back.

“Has dad come back yet?” Keiko asks.

“No, not ye-” Her mother’s answer was cut off by the sound of the door opening and her dad coming inside.

“Good morning dad! Um… What’s wrong?”

“Honey, did you bring the food?” The father just ignores the questions as he sat onto a stool. The mother starts to worry, “Sweetie, are you okay? What happened?” The father didn’t say anything for a 10 min. until he starts to speak. And for the next hour, the only thing he said was, “Peas.”

At 7:35 a.m., Kuwabara was sleeping with his pet Eikichi at the foot hear his legs. The alarm was on the whole time and was ignored. At 7:55, he woke up and looks at the clock. “Ah! Oh no!” he cries, “I’m gonna be late!” He hurriedly went to the bathroom, got washed up and dressed. He rushes to the kitchen for a quick bite. His sister, Shizuru, is sitting down at the table drinking coffee. “Hi sis! Bye sis!” he quickly said with a toast in his mouth.

“Hey, wait bro.” Shizuru calls just before he steps out the door.

“Yes?” he nervously said. He knows he’s in trouble for sleeping late.

“You forgot your bookbag.” she said. He cries and is about to go back to his room when his sister continues, “That’s alright. You won’t need it today or weeks for that matter.”

Kuwabara stops in mid-step and turns around slowly, “Why?”

Just then, the phone ring and Shizuru picks it up, “Yeah… Uh-huh… sure. Just a sec.” She gave the phone to Kuwabara, “It’s Sawamura.”

“Hello?”

“Why are you still at home!?”

“I’m sorry! I overslept and… wait, since when do you start to worry about whether or not-”

“You have to come see this! Tomatoes are all over the school!”

“WHAT!?” Some punks threw tomatoes there!?”

“Just come on! And bring a camera with you!”

“Uh, sure. I’m on my way!”

He hangs up, races to his room, grabs his camera and ran out the house with Shizuru calling out, “Make sure they’re good, okay?”

Kuwabara cannot believe this is happening. There are plenty of things he could though; ghosts, demons, twisted detectives, even a haunted house. Never thought he would have problems believing unusual things until now. When Sawamura said that tomatoes are all over the school, he expects that they will be on the walls. Not literally and is over 10 feet tall! The students all gathered at the front gate wondering if there’s going to be a school day. Some students start touching them while others takes pictures of them. It has been taking at the back, near the entrance, even one on the rooftops! The principal was so shocked that he wound up fainting and school is closed for the rest of the day. That didn’t stop the students and teachers from exploring them. Kuwabara made sure that the pictures are perfect. He made one with himself, his posse and Keiko for a group picture.

At Genkai’s temple, Yukina went to the lake to wash the clothes. 30 minutes later, Yukina came back looking stunned as ever. That’s what Genkai found when she got up. “What’s the matter?”

“Master Genkai, there are some large radishes growing in your lake.” she calmly answers. Genkai went with Yukina to see and her eyes widen as the stems of the radishes sticks out above the surface.

“Either Kurama is doing experiments,” she said after a while, “or we are dealing with some very large demons.”

The school and the temple are not the only ones that had vegetables on their midst. The entire country of Japan is seeing giant vegetables slowly falling to the ground! Mushroom stalks in Mount Fiji, lotus roots floats among side the temple of the Golden Pavilion, bamboo shoots landed in Kyoto where the regular ones were cut down. Kaito woke up when a loud BOOM coming outside his apartment. He went out to the porch to see what it looks like a giant tree. When he got closer, his mouth came right open. It’s not a tree, but a broccoli! Eventually every type of vegetables made contact with little or no damage. The only thing they had problems with is the Capsicum (Bell peppers); it just can’t seem to stay put to the ground.

At the paddy field, the farmer jumps for joy as his field of rice ‘mysteriously’ grown larger. “Finally! Now me and my family is goin’ ta be rich!”

As the vegetables lands, the students at Kaito’s school were talking about them. “A giant broccoli landed near your home!?” Kurama exclaims in wonder, “Did anyone got hurt?” “No unless you can count the owner of the car that’s now in wreckage.” Kaito replies. “It’s a shame for him, too.”

“Why’s that?”

“It never had any insurance.”

“Ah. That’s a pity.” Kurama nods, as he understood his joke: how could anyone believe a broccoli landed on a car and expects to be paid for the damage? Then, Kurama asks about his flying project. Kaito said that it hadn’t landed yet, which is strange. It should have made its way to the ground by now.

“Maybe the crates did made it, just got stuck within these vegetables.” Kaito guessed. Kurama smiles, “Or maybe, these vegetables are yours!”

“Really?” They both look up towards a student who was listening to their conversation. “You made the vegetables this large, Kaito?”

“No, of course not!” Kaito answers, “I couldn’t! It’s impossible!”

“But you just said that your project hadn’t come down yet.” she said, “And these things just happen to appear right after you send them to the sky!”

“That doesn’t mean anything.” Kurama calmly said, “We don’t know for sure.”

“It’s probably a coincidence.” Kaito adds.

“But up there, the plants can get plenty of water and light.”

‘That’s a good point.’ Kurama thought, ‘He even put some fertilizer in the boxes I believe. Still…’

Kaito continues, “Even so, the plants couldn’t grow that big.”

“How can you know for sure?” At that question, Kaito began to think about it. This student did bring up good points and there really is no way of knowing if this is not possible. ‘Wait, what am I thinking? These mutations can not be my project… can it?’ After which, a rumor is made in Meiou High School: the giant vegetables that fell from the sky are the results of Kaito’s experiment.

“You just had to make that comment didn’t you Shuuichi?”

“I’m sorry Kaito,” Kurama chuckles, “I didn’t think everyone would make it into an assumption!”

“Right, Of course you didn’t,” he sarcastically replies. Kurama shrugs as they browse through images of giant tomatoes from Kuwabara’s camera.

“Still, it’s so cool,” Kuwabara said and then quickly adds after seeing Kaito glaring at him, “I mean, if it’s yours.”

Kaito sighs, “Now the whole school won’t stop bothering me about it.”

“What about the school fair?” Kuwabara asks, “I thought you wanted to show them that you’re the best!”

“Best to beat him!” Kaito thumbs at Kurama, “Not to the point where plants will get you on the news!”

“Well, it worked.” Kurama grins, “Very well for you, Kaito.”

“I’m just glad you didn’t try demon plants for this!” Kuwabara exclaims, “Then we’d be having serious problems!” Thanks to that comment, for the next couple of days, Kaito dreams of giant plants attacking him.

First Story pt. 2

Okay everyone! Here’s part two of this story! I don’t own Yu Yu Hakusho characters or written material “June 29, 1999 ” which is by David Wiesner.

He made preparations and bought supplies for the experiment. He got seeds, crates, packages of balloons, dirt and fertilizer. On the day of the takeoff, he already planted one set in pots on his porch. All that’s left is the other set.

It was a nice Saturday morning as Kaito struggles to carry out the supplies. As he went to the nearest park, he runs into his rival/friend Shuuichi. “Good morning.” he greeted. “Morning.” Kaito replies then went back to the struggle. “Need some assistance?” Shuuichi asked with a hint of amusement. “No thanks. I’m doing fine.” he replies stubbornly, just then one of the box fell off the cart. There was a moment of silence, then Kaito adds, “But you can help if you want.”

They soon arrive at the field of the park with Shuuichi carrying some crates and Kaito with the remaining supplies. They sat it down on the grass as Kaito catches his breath. “Thanks,” He said as soon as he was rested.

“Don’t mention it.” Shuuichi replies then asks if he needs anything else.

“No, I’m fine.” Kaito responds, and then started on his work. He wanted to start as soon as possible so it will land before the due date. Shuuichi shrugs and sits down near a tree. He quietly observes the event at hand. Kaito really don’t mind; to be honest, he wanted him to know what he’s up against. He carefully placed seeds inside a large wooden box, checking to make sure that it’s sturdy and roomy for growth. Then, he does the same for several other boxes; some was needed to have a hole at the bottom, but still be able to hold the dirt. Those crates will be for the ones growing in the ground.

It’s in the early afternoon when Kuwabara approaches. “Hey Kurama! I’ve been lookin’ all over for you!” he calls.

“Hello, Kuwabara-kun.” Kurama greets. “Came for some studying I see.”

Kuwabara was about to respond when he spots Kaito. “Um, what’s he doing?” he asks. When Kurama finished explaining his science project, Kuwabara is stunned. “You really gonna send plants into space with a balloon!?” he exclaims after 5 min.

Balloons,” Kaito corrected, “and yes I am.” Then, Kaito turns towards him and asks in skeptic, “Unless you got any better ideas?”

Kuwabara opens his mouth to answer but couldn’t think of anything that is nearby. “No, but how the plants are gonna get water up there?”

“From the rain.” he answers like it was obvious.

“There can be rainfall in the ionosphere if there are any clouds.” Kurama explains.

“Oh, well what about air?” Kuwabara asks, “There’s no oxygen up there, I think. And planes?”

“That’s a risk I’m willing to take.” Kaito replies and went back to work.

“…Yeah, good luck. So Kurama, I can’t understand this problem…” So Kurama explains to Kuwabara the basics of calculus while Kaito continues with his work. By the time Kuwabara finally finishes his homework, Kaito was almost done. He reaches inside a trash bag and grabs several balloons already filled with helium and tied to a crate. He did the same with the others and by the afternoon, he took a picture of 15 crates before letting them go as proof and reference. Both Kurama and Kuwabara looks with impress as the crates floats away.

“You think your project’s gonna be okay?” Kuwabara asks.

“I hope so,” Kaito honestly said. The crates took off on April 12.

The weeks rolled by with Kaito having nothing else to do except taking care of the vegetables on his porch. The rest of the school was preparing for the fair. His project was heard throughout Meiou and some students starts to tease him. He just ignores their comments like every comment before it. Kurama will stand by him defending and talks to him about the progress. Kuwabara shows up more for Kurama’s tutoring and for the project as well. He only saw the veggies on the porch and nothing else. ‘It’s growing fine here,’ Kuwabara would think, ‘but what about the ones up there?’ Still, like Kurama, he will wait patiently for the landing. Every night, Kaito would look up at the stars for a while, silently pray for his project to come down safely and went to bed. Fortunately, his prayers will be answered, but in an unexpected way.

My First Story

Hello folks! Since I finished with my class, I figure to use this page for posting up my fanfictions. The first is a Yu Yu Hakusho story based on a funny children’s book. Don’t worry; it’s better than it sounds!

I don’t own Yu Yu Hakusho characters or written material “June 29, 1999 ” which is by David Wiesner.

Sometimes weirdness don’t take much; it naturally comes to you and from everyday people.

Yuu Kaito, a student in Meiou High School, is outside preparing his experiment for the science fair. This year, he had a very good feeling that he would win first prize and beat Minamino Shuuichi. It would take time to receive the results, but it will be worth it in the end. Since his project is based on botany, Kaito decides to do the same. The problem was how to make it unique and not like a regular experiment. It was then that Kaito saw how Astronauts have plants in outer space. It’s perfect; it’s something that which no one have thought of before. It sounds like a lot of work but fortunately, he has enough time to set up. The Science fair won’t start until May. As for the plants, he chose vegetables since… well he’s not the flower person like Shuuichi (A.K.A. Kurama) is.

At school, everyone in his classroom was talking (mostly bragging) about the fair except for himself and Shuuichi.

He was thinking about how he’s going to send his project up without running into planes until someone broke his thinking. “So Yuu, what’s your project on?”

He lifts up his head toward a female student whose wearing makeup. “Why would you want to know?”

“No reason. I just want to know all of my competitors, that’s all.” she replies.

“I bet his is going to be a volcano one like a baby!” A male student teases.
“Yeah!” another one remarks, “I bet mine is going to place yours down to last place!” “Knock it off,” Shuuichi scorns, “All of us have the same chance of the first place as he is. Besides, there is no last place.”
“Easy for you to say!” the female student exclaims, “You won first place 3 times!”  “Well this time, things are going to be different,” the boy brags, “because I will be the one who wins!”
“You wish!” the girl exclaims, “I might win!”
“No, me!”
“Me!”
As everyone starts to argue, Shuuichi quietly said to Kaito, “I guess the school has the right idea of using money as a prize this time.” Kaito almost forgotten about that little detail. The winner not only gets the blue ribbon, but also gets $100; runner-up gets $50.

“You know, I might win this time.” Kaito said.
“WHAT!?” someone shouts. Suddenly the room went quiet and everyone stares at him. He can’t believe he said it out loud! He doesn’t want to get into this pointless bragging, but it’s too late now.
“What makes you think you are gonna win?” the male student asks.
“Yeah, what’s your project about?” the female student asks again.
Kaito starts to think about how he’s going to say this delicately. Then he calmly answers: “I’m going to investigate extraterrestrial life conditions by growing one set of plants here and the other to the ionosphere. I expect it to land back safely before the fair to compare the vegetable growth.”  Their reactions are satisfying; Kurama looks surprised while the rest of his classmates were speechless.

That’s all for now! There will be more very soon…
